About OUR Practice

– Virginia Satir

The CFC accepts CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. Many of our clients with other insurance providers receive out-of-network reimbursement. Check with your insurance plan to see what your out-of-network benefits are.

Robin S. Smith, LCMFT
Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist

“Accept, commit, and open to change.”

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Robin is trained and experienced in taking a “systems-approach” with helping couples, families, and individuals. Simply put, a systems-approach means that he addressed challenges in your own life as well as challenges within the context of the relationships you have with a partner, family member, or another significant person in your life whom you feel close to.

This is what MFTs do best.

Cancellation Policy

The usual per session rate is charged for missed appointments or for cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice. Your time has been reserved for you. Only with sufficient notice can we make that time available to someone else. If we have an emergency, we will do our best to inform you promptly so that we can reschedule your time together. Missed appointments will be charged to your credit card that is on file.

Inclement Weather Policy

The Couple and Family Clinic follows the inclement weather policy of MCPS schools. In the event of inclement weather, if you would like to still “meet”, we do offer phone or video sessions which are billed at the usual per session rate. You will need to confirm your same time slot for the phone or video call by 10:00 am on the same day of your scheduled appointment. Video sessions can only be conducted once we have a signed copy of the Telemental Health Agreement. Please do reach out if you would like to reschedule your appointment for another day that week. Otherwise, we will meet at your next scheduled session.
