Robin Smith’s Approach to Spiritual Healing

Robin offers spiritual healing that is informed from his background as a Level 1 trained Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist. IFS is an evidenced based psychotherapy; And, it also allows access to deeper realms in the psyche. Through the IFS model, Robin guides his clients through their inner world to help them identify external energies, what are referred to in IFS as Unattached Burdens (UBs). Once these UBs are cleared, the client is then able to access deeper healing.

Definitions of Psychotherapy and Spiritual Healing:

Psychotherapy is a type of treatment that can help individuals experiencing a wide array of mental health conditions and emotional challenges. Psychotherapy can help not only alleviate symptoms, but also, certain types of psychotherapies can help identify the psychological root causes of one’s condition so a person can function better and have enhanced emotional well-being and healing.

Spiritual healing is a natural energy therapy that complements conventional medicine by treating the whole person – mind, body, emotions, spirit and soul. Healers are thought to act as a conduit for Healing energy, the benefits of which can be felt on many levels, including the physical.

Key Differences Between Psychotherapy and Spiritual Healing:

    • Psychotherapy falls within the medical model and therefore can be billed under medical codes and covered by health insurance companies. Spiritual healing falls outside of the medical model and therefore – at least as of today – is not covered by any health insurance company. Psychotherapy works directly with a person’s thoughts, feelings, beliefs, emotions, sensations, images, and behaviors in order to bring about desired changes to the person’s life.

    • Spiritual healing categorically works with external energies that do not belong to the person who is attending the healing sessions. These external energies can drive an individual’s thoughts, feelings, beliefs, emotions, etc. and can even convince the person that they – the external energy – are a part of the person; But they are not. And once all parts of a person no longer want to keep that external energy, it must go. Once it leaves, the person is then able to heal in much deeper and more profound ways.

    • Psychotherapy with Robin is only available to clients who are physically located in the State of Maryland, U.S. Spiritual healing with Robin is available internationally.
